Karst Window
A karst window is a geologic feature where the aquifer is exposed to the surface. This karst window in Florida is a forty foot shaft that leads directly to the crystal clear waters of the Floridan Aquifer. Water flows quickly through karst aquifers with limited filtration. Here, water falls directly into the aquifer with zero filtration. It is imperative that we keep areas like this one
in their natural state as well as clean and free of any pollutants that might contaminate our drinking water.
